Bringing together diverse organisations and experts from various fields, the initiative is driven by a shared commitment to creating impactful and sustainable change through creative and cultural interventions.
The project’s mission is to harness the power of art and culture as dynamic forces in addressing climate change and fostering sustainable communities. It envisions a world where artistic expression and cultural engagement play a central role in understanding and tackling environmental challenges. Through its initiatives, Turning the Tide continues to empower local communities, amplify diverse voices, and foster innovative solutions to the problems posed by climate change, with a strong focus on waterfront communities uniquely affected by these global issues.
The project involves partners from five European countries: Intercult (Sweden), Artit (Greece), Wiener Bildungsakademie (Austria),Urban Culture Institute (Gdansk) and DEAR HUNTER (Netherlands), in collaboration with Fablevision Scotland and the River//Cities network.
