The ARTeria Foundation is non-governmental organization established in 2006. ARTeria realises a variety projects and activities related to the social and economic development primarily through culture and art, and extensively with the cultural education in a spirit of frankness and a respect of culture differences and intellectual dialogue. ARTeria is a place of propagating an active participation in public life - we are doing this not only through a variety of forms of artistic/cultural expressions but first of all through promoting new trends, skills and knowledge, through the initiations of ideas, organization of debates, exhibitions, conferences, courses, trainings, concerts, meetings, cultural events, scientific and educational actions. ARTeria realizes the aims in three sections:
ART&NET – the area comprises such issues as the development of civil society and the sector of culture, the development of the non-governmental organisations operating in this sector
ARTeriaheritage – projects devoted to cultural heritage
ARTeriapublishing – publishing and exhibition activities
ARTeria supports the regional development and activates a local environments, preventing social exclusion and unemployment (especially in artistic and cultural sector), the development of autonomy and consciousness of citizens. Our aims are also realized through searching for a new social function of the cultural heritage. Not only is it achieved through working out the alternative ways of spending free time, innovative methods of social and cultural animation but also thought an invitation to: shared initiatives, an investment in oneself, a participation in social life, a discovery of sensitivity or resourcefulness, a development of social abilities, simulation of creativity, discovery of the contentment with life and stimulation human’s curiosity for the world.
ARTeria is also the member (from 2010) of Culture Action Europe - the international network that since 1992 has been acting as an advocate of the cultural sector on European level, participating actively in the process of creating the EU cultural policy and from 2017 is a member of international network River//Cities. Foundation ARTeria is the training institution registered in the register of training institutions in Regional Labour Office in Katowice under registration number 2.24/00173/2013.
