The River//Cities Platform Foundation has been registered as an international organisation on 22 February 2011 in Warsaw, Poland.
It is a successor of the informal network River//Cities Platform established in 2006 by initiative of Agnieszka Wlazel, Impact Foundation.
At present Foundation is registered in Poland at the following address: Aleja Grunwaldzka 5 , 80-236 Gdańsk, Poland.
The aim of the River//Cities Platform Foundation is to increase the impact of culture on the sustainable development of urban waterfronts for the benefit of their citizens.
The main objectives of the Foundation are:
• to increase cultural activity in urban waterfront areas
• to encourage policy change and increase investment in cultural initiatives
• to generate cross-disciplinary collaborations
• to create capacity-building opportunities
New strategy of River//Cities Platform was establish in 2017.

Financing:
The River//Cities Platform Foundation functioning and its work is based on both membership fees and grants/funds for specific projects.
