On 30th of November Intercult held a SOS Waterfronts webinar.
This webinar gave an insight into the exciting ongoing research on the S.O.S. – Sustainable Open Solutions for European urban waterfronts, funded by Horizon 2020 Marie Curie action.
During the webinar project's participants talked about:
- how urban waterfronts could be re-thought as laboratories for innovative climate adaptation solutions.
- how planning for waterfronts goes beyond urban and economic features and reflect upon cultural, political, environmental and social characteristics.
Prof Pedro Garcia, prof Lucyna Nyka, prof Alkmini Paka, Dr Katarina Larsen shared insights, tips, research results and commented on international, cross sectorial collaboration for the safer future of our cities threatened by climate changes.

SOS Climate Waterfront 2018-2021 is an interdisciplinary project that aims to explore waterfronts in Europe that are facing climate change. The project collects different disciplines to create new strategies for sustainable solutions for infrastructure and urban planning in Europe.
