One tiny art intervention may not change the planning policy, but this project's 'patchworking' has been a very important element of a much bigger program of debate and learning, and gradual war of attrition, like the famous one drop that erodes the stone.
Enjoy this final film that shows all the drops of Memory of Water project documented in six European cities with a camera lens of Jonas Myrstrand.
Memory of Water is an artist-led project exploring post-industrial cultural heritage on waterfront in the context of urban planning and community development. Over two years, the participating partners from six countries (Intercult in Sweden, City of Ostend in Belgium, the Municipality of Levadia in Greece, Nadbaltyckie Centrum Kultury in Poland, Fablevision in Scotland, and Ormston House in Ireland) collaborated on twenty-three interconnected activities including four city labs, six international residencies, and a filmed documentary. Artists worked with citizens, community groups, politicians, urban planners and other stakeholders to create inclusive events and artistic interventions. The full programme of 23 interconnected activities is developed to meet the three priorities of the Creative Europe Co-operations programme: audience development, capacity building and transnational mobility.
