Wellington Waterfront Art Walk, New Zealand
In Wellington you can admire not only beautiful harbour views but also various works of art and sculpture spread over 1,5 km.
Here are some higlights of this Art Walk:
Nga Kina – 9 giant Kina located at the mouth of the historic Kumutoto Stream and inspired by Maori culture and designed by Michel Tuffery;
Water Whirler - designed by renowned kinetic artist Len Lye in the 1960’s, realized in 2006, plays in 12 minute cycles;
Wellington Writer’s Walk - 23 concrete sculptures of the past and present poets, novelists and playwrights;
Ferns – Neil Dawson’s sculpture seemingly defying gravity.
